In SEO Marketing, to rank well, one of the way to get lot of in-bound links to your sites. So how are you going to get those in-bound links. Now I am going to show you the free way how you can get lot of one way link to your site and the next post I will show you another way.
The first way is by Writing Articles
What you need to do is to write articles and submit your articles to various articles directories like:
1)EzineArticles.com
2)Articledashboard.com
3)GoArticles.com
In these articles directories, there are lot of web master waiting to publish your articles. The way you going to get those one way link to your site is through the “About The Author” box that is included in the end of each article.
An important point to note is that you should choose a keyword that you want to target as a link to your website inside the “About The Author” box. This keyword is usually known as “Anchor Text Link“.
An example of an “About The Author” will be like the one below:

Can you see the anchor text link that I use which is Make Money Online. So whenever search for Make Money Online on Google, my articles may turn up in google which in turn bring me more traffic.
So what you need to do now is to take some time to create your weekly article writing schedule to write some quality articles and start submitting to the various articles directories.
I would suggest that you write at least 3 articles per week and submit to the various article directories for at least 3 months.
You see if you write quality articles, people will start publishing your articles on their sites/blog and that a link back to you which mean more traffic to your sites. Can you imagine if you have lot of your articles out there doing these for you? It will bring you traffic for a long term with just a one time work.
So get some writing work done.

John: Your suggestions are great, I’ve been trying them out with articles for the past couple of months but and this is just me, I write and I write, I re-write and re-word yet still it all seems repetative. I don’t want to be another copy “writer” posting the same ideas over and over again. I’m a nobody trying to fight my way through gurus and published authors who can afford to have new material written for them and published before the rest of us know it’s what we want to know. Where can the newbie find that place no man or woman has been?

I just want you to know that you are not a nobody. Everyone is special including you. It is great that you want to be original and want to write unique content.
There are actually 2 ways you can use articles. One way is to drive traffic and the other way is to promote product. Determine the purpose you want to write the article first and it will make your writing easier.

I just read your post and visited the article submitter pro website. Are you using this software for your self?
And if so, is it possible to spin articles so it sends a kind of unique article to these directories?
