To be successful online, not only can we learn from what people is doing right but we can also learn from the mistakes of people. In this post, I am going to share with you 5 common mistakes make by ordinary people who are making money online so that you do not make the same mistakes.

Here are the 5 common mistakes.

1) Not driving enough traffic – As I mention that making money online, you need to have a product that people want and then drive traffic to that product. But what most people does is that they spend so much time creating the product but too little time on driving traffic to their site.

Then after some time, they conclude that their products are not making any sales and then they give up with their product and then move on to create any product. But what was the mistake is that they didn’t put in consistent effort in generating traffic to the site to generate sales.

In fact you should spend 60% or more of your time marketing your site instead of other activities.

2) Doing a few projects at the same time – This is another common mistakes make by marketers. They have too many ideas in your head and that is the reason they tend to implement to many projects at the same time and in the end got nothing completed or taking them too long to complete a project and start generating traffic.

To avoid this mistake, you should carry a notepad or a voice recorder with you so each time you have a fresh idea, just jot it down into your notepad and move on with your current project. When you complete that project, then you take out the notebook and see what other ideas you can implement.

This is to help you to stay focus and not forget the great ideas that you have.

3) Perfectionists – This mistake are usually made by people who are perfectionist. They are so particular about having the best product and end of keeping modifying the product and the end didn’t get anything launched.

Nothing is perfect in this world, even the best product that created by the marketing gurus are not perfect. The main thing is not to get it perfect, but get it launched and you modify it along the way. You see if Bill Gates will still their window program is perfect, he will not be billionaires today.

4) Focus on non money generating activities – I seldom hear people talk about this. As a business owner, your time should focus on planning how you can expand your business and not on those mandate activities.

For the start, if you do not have the budget, you may be doing all those activities yourself but once you have enough money, it is time that you outsource these task to people so that you can maximize the time that you have.

Everyone has only 24 hrs so you have to leverage the effort of others in order to bring your business to the next level.

You can hire people from sites like elance.com or getafreelancer.com to outsource your work to other people.

5) Read Email Syndrome – I must admit that sometimes I make this mistake too. In the morning, I open up my email, and unknowingly I have been checking emails and surfing around for the past 2 hours.

That is a lot of time wasted that could spend on your business. That is why I always encourage people to work on a computer without a internet access and have your day planned so that you know what you need to do each day and will not lose focus.

So the next question is how can you create a product fast? Let me give you a hand by offering 2 solutions that you can take to create your own product in 30 days or less.

Product Creation Method 1 – Conducting Interview

This is the method I love most to create a product fast. Let me list down the steps involve and the tools you needed to show you how easy it is.

Steps Involved and Tools needed

1) Compile a list of questions that your target who like to know by asking them. You can go to forum in your target market and ask question like “What is your top 3 frustration about Gardening (Replace with your niche)” or you if you have a list, you can do a survey with using services like survey monkey.

2) Once you compile a series of questions to ask, it is time to look for expert in your market to interview. Find 5-10 expert related to your niche and start emailing them requesting for interview. In your email, you want to tell them the benefit they will be getting for letting you interview them in order to increase the chance for them to do an interview with you.

3) Once they agreed, you want to email them the time and how you going to interview them. I recommend you to use service like Instant Teleseminar or skype with Pamela service to record the call.

4) Record the call and transcribe them to increase value.

5) Create your salesletter and you are ready to do business.

Isn’t it simple? Just 5 simple steps and you have your own product created. Now let me show you the second method to create product fast.

Product Creation Method 2 – Using Private Label Rights Products

Steps Involved and Tools needed

1) Research what topic your market are interested

3) Read and modify the content of the PLR product to add more value to it. An example will be adding related bonus.

4) Create your own graphics and salesletter to differentiate yourself from your competitors.

Here is my answer: I still remember when I just got started online, the main problem that I faced that cause me to stuck in my online business is “Choosing A Niche“. I am sure many of you face this problem till this day.

So what is the solution or answer on how to choose a good niche that can make you money? I am going to help you by sharing with you 5 characterics of a good niche that makes you money.

5 Characteristics Of A Good Make Money Online Niche

1. Availability Of Products To Promote – You want to find a niche that already have a wide range of products for you to promote as an affiliate as you do not want to enter a niche and find out that you can make money only on one product.

For example of a good niche is dog training niche. There is a wide range of products like ebook, dog clothing, video training, dog cares and so on. With these wide range of products, you can make money from your list time and time again.

2. Benefits For Buying Online – Many physical products that is being sold online can be bought offline and as people are more used to buying things offline, you need to give them benefits/reasons to buy it online.

Benefits like discount or an additional bonus or conveniences will be a good benefits. Therefore you want to choose a niche that has benefits for buying online.

3. Immediate Gratification – People want things fast and immediate so if the niche can provide immediate gratification will be an advantage. Example will be an ebook that can be download immediately after payment.

4. Competition – Many beginners are afraid this word “competition”. If you enter a niche that had no competition, you want to be careful because most probably this niche is not profitable. If it is, then mostly likely there will be people selling products to that niche.

Another thing about competition is that these competitors can be your future potential Joint Venture partners that can help you in your business.

5. Custom To Spending Money Online – This is one of the most important characteristic you want to consider. You do not want to enter a niche where they are no buyers. No matter how good your product is, nobody will buy because they are not use to spending money online.

Just a week ago, I sprain my leg during a night of fun basketball game. I enjoy the whole game but it was about the end of the game, I accidentally step on my friend’s leg and sprain my leg. Here is a picture of my swollen leg.

I tell you, it was very painful.

And this is the time, I realise the benefits of making money online. You see if you have an swollen leg like mine, are you able to go to your office at work. I bet not, you will be probably resting at home watching some TV programs.

Making Money Online these days are very different from the old days. Technology has advance and presentation of information can come in many different ways. Ways like text format, PDF format, audio format, video format and many more.

And as you know that different people learn in different ways, some people learn more effective by listening, some by seeing, some by reading and some by doing. So with these different presentation formats, are you providing the right format of information to your subscribers.

Too often, we as marketer will present information the format that we like best. For example, I love video then I will tend to provide information in video format but do you know that this may not be what your subscriber wants.

Let me give you some real proof to prove what I say. Recently I did a survey with my subscribers and I thought that since video is the hot thing now, maybe my subscribers will like video information but my survey results tell me otherwise.

As you can see from the image above, my subscribers like information in pdf format best. So to meet my subscribers need, I need to give them what they want by providing information in PDF format.
