Free Marketing Tool I Personally Used Part 2

Mon, Feb 25, 2008

This is the second part of my “Free Marketing Tool” series. I have received some great response for the first part of this series. If you have missed out part 1 of this series, you can click here to read it.

So let me move on by listing the first free marketing tool for part 2:

1. Smart FTP

Smart FTP

Instead of using my hosting files manager to upload and download my files, I used a free FTP software to transfer my files from my local server to my hosting server. For those who are not familiar with Cpanel files manager, this is a tool for you to transfer files easily.

2. Google Analytics

For your online business, other than driving traffic to your site, another important part which you do not want to miss out is testing and tracking. Initially I am using paid tools to track where my traffic come from and track what are the conversion rate for each traffic source.

But in recent months, I have switch over to a very powerful free tools by Google called “Google Analytics“. You can click here to view a video to find out more about this free tool.

Google Analytics

3. Gimp

As a graphics designer myself. Photoshop is a powerful tool that I used day in and day out. But I realise that not every one of you are using photoshop that often therefore it does not justify you to buy the photoshop software.

GIMP

So here is the solution for those who do not want to pay for a paid graphics software like Photoshop. You can use a free graphics software called GIMP.

Basically GIMP can provide similiar functionality that Photoshop provides but of course less powerful since it is a free tool. But it is sufficient for basic usual.

4. Good Keywords Tool

Good Keyword

Good Keywords tool is basically a keyword research tool that allow you to do research on how many searches are done with a particular keyword.

Not only does it have this free tool, there are several free tools available at goodkeyword website for your to download and use.

5. Dictionary.com

dictionary

As you all know that English is not my strong language therefore Dictionary.com is a must tool for me when come to writing. Especially the Thesaurus section, it allows me to write with a more variety of words which is good for my reader. :)

I think that enough for this post. This is still not the end of my ”Free Marketing Tools”  series yet so I will post it once I get it ready.

Do not forget to drop me a few comments.

Free Marketing Tool I Personally Used Part 1

I am going to start a series of post to share the free marketing tools that I use for my day to day online business. If all these tools need to be paid for, I think I will go crazy.

So let start off with the first free marketing tools:

1. Wordpress.com(Hosted) / Wordpress.org(Self-Hosted)

Wordpress

Blog had become one of the must have tool for marketer now. It can be used for various purposes like product reviewing blog, affiliate marketing blog, communicating blog, training blog, membership site and much more.

The reason I used wordpress blog platform instead of others is because of the ability to use plugins and the free themes available. I love plugins because it allows my blog to have more features without much work. Just upload to my server and activate plugin and it is done.

As for the themes, there are thousands of them you can use to make my blog look professional.

2. Roboform

Roboform

Are you good at remembering username and password or do you record each one of them 1 by 1? I am sure if you are recording them 1 by 1, it will takes quite a bit of your time because each time you want to log in to a site, you need to find them.

Personally I use Roboform which is a software that install on your internet browser toolbar .Each time you need your login information you just need to click a button and all the information will all be fill in for you automatically.

What you need to remember is just one master password instead of hundreds of them. What a time saving tool.

3. Social Marker

Social Marker

If you are lacking traffic to your site, then bookmarking your site is one of the way you can drive lots of traffic to your site. It used to be very tedious because you need to go to each individual bookmarking site to bookmark manually.

With the help of Social Marker, all you need to do is simply drag this button Socialmarker to your bookmarks toolbar, in order to create a submission bookmarklet. When you are on a website that you want to socially mark, simply select the text and click the SocialMarker button to pre-populate the submission form with the selected information.

4. Website Builder

My Free Website Builder

As a internet marketer, building website is a basic skill we need to have. Yes you can outsource this part of your business but it is still useful you know how to build website. For me I am using both dreamweaver and FreeWebsiteBuilder.

Dreamweaver is paid tool and a more complex tool so I would not recommend beginner to use it. I am using dreamweaver because I learned it during my school day but for easy website building like squeeze page, I will still use FreeWebsiteBuilder.

Start learning to build your site with FreeWebsiteBuilder since it is free.

5. BlogRush

BlogRush

BlogRush is a widget that I use to drive more targeted traffic to my blog. As you can see that I have this widget install at the sidebar of my blog that look like this.

What it does is have your blog posts promoted on related blogs across the internet that have the widget on their blog too. A win-win situation for all bloggers.

You can get a free account here.

Ok above are the 5 tools that I am currently using to run my online business. Part 2 of this post will coming up very soon so make sure you check my blog often. I am sure you do not want to miss the next update!

Did you enjoy the post? Have anything to add? Any free tools you’d like to suggest?

So is there any secrets about making lots of money online? My answer to you is BIG NO! There is actually no secrets but only information that you yet to discover. Am I telling you not to buy ebook or homestudy courses any more. I am not. In fact I encourage you to buy products that will shorten your learning curve or increase your business.

The reason I took a long time to make money online is because I was not focus on the project I am in, instead of moving forward, I was suck into buying ebook after ebook that focus on generating quick money which I am not.

In fact, the moment that I stop all these “nonsense” and focus on what is working on my business, I start to see results. The reason I wrote this post is to share about my journey and I hope you will not make the same mistake that I have made.

You see online marketing is about rinse and repeat what is working in your business. If you are in the stage of creating information product, buy product that help you to create your information product instead of buying “How to drive massive of traffic to your site” because at the moment of your business, you do not need traffic yet.

I hope you understand what I mean. Invest product that will help you to reach your businesss goal instead of pulling you away from your goal.

Lastly, remember not to chase after the dream but focusing on the tasks to reach your business goal and that the secret to succeed online!

How To Get Hundred Of One Way Link To Your Site Part 2

Tue, Jan 22, 2008

This post will be a continuation of previous post about “How To Get Hundred Of One Way Link To Your Site“. In this post, I am going to show you some paid method to get lots of links to your site. Ok do not stop reading when you read the word “paid“.

You see, if you are in the real business, you need to invest either your time, money or effort. So do not let this 4 letters word scare you off. I know how you feel because I in that place before living from paycheck to paycheck. If you really are in tight budget, then you need to read my previous post for the free method.

For the paid method, I am going to introduce 2 resources to you that can help you save time to get lots of links but investing a small amount of money.

The first service is “Link Metro

Link Metro has 2 membership type. One is free and the other paid. What is does is basically a directory of people who want to exchange link with one another. This is good because you do not need to spend lots of your precious time finding link partners or writing articles to build your link.

The second service that I am going to share with you is called ”3 Way Links

How 3 Way Links work:

The system uses a method of linking known as 3-way linking. Unlike the traditional one-way link, where only one site benefits, with a 3-way link all 3 sites get what Google sees as a one-way link to their web site.

In the old reciprocal link method, site A linked to site B and site B linked back to site A. Google does not value that kind of link very much at all anymore. Google wants to see one-way links (or at least what it believes are one-way links).

3 way links

In a 3-way link setup, site A links to site B, site B links to site C, and site C links to site A (as shown in the graphic on the left). This is where the power of this system lies.

Google sees each link in the 3-way link exchange as a one-way link
and gives it the FULL ranking value of a one-way link. And the best part is that this process is automated once you set it up.

Click to visit 3 Way Links By Jonathan Leger to find out more.

I am sure the above 2 resources will help you to get lots of links to your site that will boost your search engine ranking which in turn drive more traffic to your site.

Do leave your comment about how you feel about these resources.
