Free Marketing Tool I Personally Used Part 1

I am going to start a series of post to share the free marketing tools that I use for my day to day online business. If all these tools need to be paid for, I think I will go crazy.

So let start off with the first free marketing tools:

1. Wordpress.com(Hosted) / Wordpress.org(Self-Hosted)

Wordpress

Blog had become one of the must have tool for marketer now. It can be used for various purposes like product reviewing blog, affiliate marketing blog, communicating blog, training blog, membership site and much more.

The reason I used wordpress blog platform instead of others is because of the ability to use plugins and the free themes available. I love plugins because it allows my blog to have more features without much work. Just upload to my server and activate plugin and it is done.

As for the themes, there are thousands of them you can use to make my blog look professional.

2. Roboform

Roboform

Are you good at remembering username and password or do you record each one of them 1 by 1? I am sure if you are recording them 1 by 1, it will takes quite a bit of your time because each time you want to log in to a site, you need to find them.

Personally I use Roboform which is a software that install on your internet browser toolbar .Each time you need your login information you just need to click a button and all the information will all be fill in for you automatically.

What you need to remember is just one master password instead of hundreds of them. What a time saving tool.

3. Social Marker

Social Marker

If you are lacking traffic to your site, then bookmarking your site is one of the way you can drive lots of traffic to your site. It used to be very tedious because you need to go to each individual bookmarking site to bookmark manually.

With the help of Social Marker, all you need to do is simply drag this button Socialmarker to your bookmarks toolbar, in order to create a submission bookmarklet. When you are on a website that you want to socially mark, simply select the text and click the SocialMarker button to pre-populate the submission form with the selected information.

4. Website Builder

My Free Website Builder

As a internet marketer, building website is a basic skill we need to have. Yes you can outsource this part of your business but it is still useful you know how to build website. For me I am using both dreamweaver and FreeWebsiteBuilder.

Dreamweaver is paid tool and a more complex tool so I would not recommend beginner to use it. I am using dreamweaver because I learned it during my school day but for easy website building like squeeze page, I will still use FreeWebsiteBuilder.

Start learning to build your site with FreeWebsiteBuilder since it is free.

5. BlogRush

BlogRush

BlogRush is a widget that I use to drive more targeted traffic to my blog. As you can see that I have this widget install at the sidebar of my blog that look like this.

What it does is have your blog posts promoted on related blogs across the internet that have the widget on their blog too. A win-win situation for all bloggers.

You can get a free account here.

Ok above are the 5 tools that I am currently using to run my online business. Part 2 of this post will coming up very soon so make sure you check my blog often. I am sure you do not want to miss the next update!

Did you enjoy the post? Have anything to add? Any free tools you’d like to suggest?

Hi,
it is good to see what people use as I am just starting. There is still many aspects that I find confusing but mostly it is the construction of a blog site. Everybody seems to gloss over it but it is probably the most important part of the site other than content.
An observation regarding Blogrush, when I go to any site that has it installed I completely ignore it as it is so loud it looks like just another advert. I did try an experiment with some friends and asked them to click around a site on anything they thought was interesting. Everyone of them ignored the blatant adverts and the blogrush widget. When asked the reply was that they don’t like adverts and don’t click on them. I have no doubt that people do okay on Blogrush but I wonder if they would do much better if it wasn’t so much in your face like a typical advert.

Hi John,

I think it’s gr8t that marketers are sharing resources for newbies as I know how hard it is for anyone starting out in IM today.I’d like to mention a free site of mine that is called Pimp That URL. This is a URL shrinking service with a big difference,I let you name the url.Hre’s an example,http://www.pimpedurls.com/?grfv (grfv)is generated like most similar sites but I think you’ll get more click throughs with this http://www.pimpedurls.com/?magnetic or this http://www.pimpedurls.com/?GraphicsVault. I also have a short flick on the home page showing you how easy this service is to use. you can check it ou at http://pimpedurls.com
PS:- I hope you enjoy……….
